I'm remembering my grandmother's autobiography where she describes being very very specific to Grampa about what their future apartment in DC could be like, after Grampa got elected to the US Senate for the first time. What they ended up with was lovely, but it fit none of her specs. They kept the place all 24 years they were in DC, though. Oh goodness. Thank you, and it was wonderful visiting with you!
